Cala Llonga se prepara para vivir una jornada inédita con la organización del primer torneo de fútbol playa que se celebrará en la localidad, una propuesta deportiva y recreativa que busca reunir a jugadores, familias, visitantes y amantes del deporte en un entorno privilegiado junto al mar. El evento tendrá lugar entre los días 6 al 12 de julio de 2026 en la playa principal, donde en breves se ultimarán los detalles para acondicionar el espacio y garantizar una experiencia de nivel TOP para participantes y asistentes.
La competición marcará un antes y un después en la agenda deportiva local, ya que será la primera vez que la playa de Cala Llonga apueste por una disciplina que aun desconocida por muchos tiene un gran auge en multitud de playas de América latina, siendo Brasil la que posee la patente después de tantos años de práctica. El fútbol playa combina espectáculo, técnica, velocidad y un ambiente festivo que lo convierte en una modalidad cada vez más atractiva para jugadores de todas las edades.
According to the organisers, 300 players are currently registered for the tournament, a figure that is set to rise as registration remains open until 7 June.
Players from various age groups – including under-7s, under-10s, under-12s, under-14s and under-16s – from all the island’s municipalities will be taking part in the event.
The competition will be held in a league format from Monday to Friday, featuring fast-paced matches consisting of two 15-minute halves that promise excitement from the very first minute right through to the semi-finals and the grand final, which will consist of two 20-minute halves to be played on Saturday and Sunday.
To host this championship, a regulation-size pitch will be laid out on the sand, along with technical areas for the teams, rest areas, facilities for the public, and tents and chairs for over a hundred spectators. Furthermore, safety, healthcare and hygiene measures will be stepped up to ensure the smooth running of the event.
Beyond the sporting aspect, the event also has a clear social, tourism and sporting focus, according to Sascha, the event’s main organiser.
People from the world of football and other sports organisations have responded very positively to this initiative, highlighting that it offers an opportunity to diversify the range of leisure activities on offer, promote healthy lifestyles and raise the profile of the municipality’s natural resources. They also emphasise the positive impact it could have on hotels, restaurants, shops and businesses in the area as the tournament gains recognition in future editions.
“We want this tournament to be just the start of something big. Our aim is to consolidate it in future editions and position Ibiza Beach Football Tops as a benchmark for beach sports,” said the organisers during a discussion with the creators.
One of the most eagerly awaited moments of the day will be the awards ceremony, which will recognise the effort and performance of the participants. Trophies will be awarded to the winning team, as well as special honours for the tournament’s top scorers and top goal-scorers, thus rewarding both team play and the individual talent demonstrated during the competition.
Team registrations will remain open until 7 June 2026, whilst admission for the public will be completely free. Reserved areas will also be set aside for partners and sponsors supporting this inaugural edition.
With excitement, anticipation and a setting like no other, Cala Llonga is set to write a new chapter in its sporting history with a tournament that promises thrills, camaraderie and a passion for football on the sand.
